In Germany, the third regional branch of Ubisoft will open. Until now, flags Ubi fluttered over the offices of Blue Byte, located in Dusseldorf and Mainz. Now, the development team will be located in an office in the center of Berlin, just a short drive from the famous Kurfürstendamm shopping street, the Berlin Zoo and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.
The head of the studio will be Istvan Tainai, who has been working at Ubisoft Blue Byte since 2012. The new Berlin studio will open in early 2018. Ubisoft Berlin will work on the Far Cry series together with other teams of Ubisoft. In the coming months, the new studio plans to employ about fifty specialists.
Studio Blue Byte became part of Ubisoft in 2001. The department worked on the series of economic strategies The Settlers and Anno and collaborated with Ubisoft Montréal in creating For Honor, Rainbow Six: Siege and Skull & Bones.
