Panic Button has enough experience with the id Software engine – the studio transferred to the Nintendo Switch DOOM 2016 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Versions for a semi-portable console, of course, were much inferior to the options for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, but the technical specialists at Digital Foundry still praised the achievements of Panic Button – it’s not so easy to port modern AAA shooters to practically mobile hardware!
In DOOM Eternal there will also be invasions in the style of Dark Souls (or, more precisely, Resident Evil 6) – players can control demons and kill Dumgaev in foreign worlds. But, as Polygon reports, this is not the only kind of multiplayer.
Carefully assume – the life of DOOM Eternal will be long. From the QuakeCon 2018 stage, developers claimed that they are building the whole DOOM universe, and in the press comments they mentioned that they want to give gamers more reasons to return to Eternal and play it again and again. It looks like id plans to release a whole chain of updates of different kinds, and the new DOOM will attract attention for a long time after the release.
