Original news: For the first time in many years, the main series of Sid Meier’s Civilization will appear on the consoles. 2K Games and Firaxis Games have announced that the sixth part will arrive on the Nintendo Switch this fall.
In Civilization VI for Switch, the latest improvements and updates to the game will appear, as well as four additions with civilizations, leaders, and scenarios: Vikings Scenario Pack, Poland Civilization & Scenario Pack, Australia Civilization & Scenario Pack, and Persia and Macedon Civilization & Scenario Pack. The fate of other DLC (like the huge expansion of Rise and Fall) has not yet been specified.
Apparently, the Switch will have a full version of Civilization VI and not some adaptation with clipped gameplay. In addition, the hybrid console will introduce cooperative and competitive multiplayer for four players, which works through a wireless local area network.
Release Civilization VI for Switch is scheduled for November 16.
Recall that Civilization VI is also on the iPad. The last major Civilization that got to the consoles was Civilization II for the first PlayStation. On the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 came the spin-off of Civilization Revolution.
