A few hours ago, Reddit users discovered that on September 10, ZeniMax, the parent company of Bethesda, registered the Redfall trademark for a certain game. Many immediately assumed that this is the subtitle The Elder Scrolls VI.
In part, even found a justification. For example, in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim there is a task called “The only medicine” associated with plague, the key symptom of which is reddening of the skin. In the settlements of Bretons it was spread by Periat – one of the princes of Daedra, he is the Plague Lord.
In the universe of the “Ancient Scrolls” in general, many ills have been found, “suitable” for a new brand: red death, red fever, bloody plague, and others. Reddit suggests that in The Elder Scrolls VI all these ailments can develop into an epidemic, and the main character will have to find a cure and, possibly, fight with Periight.
Another theory forum is reduced to the fact that Redfall – a reference to other regions of the universe, such as the Gulf of Eliak, High Rock and Hammerfell. And anyway – a similar subtitle sounds and is remembered, just like Oblivion or Skyrim. It is possible, of course, that the trademark is not at all connected with the universe of the “Ancient Scrolls”, but is intended for any other Bethesda project. They have it now a lot.
The Elder Scrolls VI was presented at E3 2018. However, the production is at a very early stage – now Bethesda Game Studios is focused on the imminent release of Fallout 76 and the development of Starfield. By the way, we learned about the latter long before the official announcement due to the long registration of the trademark.
