Oculus Quest – a virtual reality game helmet that doesn’t need PCs and wires

Oculus continues to conquer the world with its virtual reality helmets. The next step is a gaming device, which does not need a separate computer or additional wires. The company announced Oculus Quest – a device on the principle of “all in one.” It does not even have external sensors for tracking movements: this is the built-in Oculus Insight technology. It also provides security, that is, it seems to warn about the dangerous proximity of the little finger on the leg and the sofa, as well as other unwanted clashes with the outside world.

Oculus Quest became the first independent device from Oculus with six degrees of freedom. Displays are built into the helmet with a resolution of 1600 x 1440 for each eye and the same optics that are in the Oculus Go. In addition, engineers have improved the quality of the built-in sound and achieved deeper bass. Over 50 games will appear on the Oculus Quest launch, including Robo Recall, The Climb, Moss and Star Wars entertainment.

Oculus Quest will be available in the spring of 2019 at a price of $ 399. For such a cost, you get a helmet with 64-gigabyte memory and Oculus Touch controllers.
