Microsoft has decided to suspend the deployment of the autumn Windows update 10 October 2018 Update on computers around the world. The reasons are the complaints of users to permanently delete personal files during the installation of the update.
“We take a pause in the distribution of a major update of the Windows operating system on 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) in order to sort out the problem that entails deleting users’ personal files on some computers, ”says Microsoft. The scale of the incident and the timing of the re-launch of the update is not reported.
Update Windows 10 October 2018 Update was introduced by the company a few days ago and became the sixth major update package for the “dozens”. The features of the autumn update include cloud clipboard, Your Phone application for synchronization with mobile devices, support for DirectX Raytracing (DXR) graphics API, SwiftKey integrated keyboard, improved Edge browser, “Explorer” dark theme and much more.
Immediately after the release of the update, Windows 10 October 2018 Update was criticized by the user audience, faced with various product flaws, including the deletion of files from the My Documents folder during the platform update process. For those who did not have backup data, this behavior of the flagship Microsoft OS became fatal, because it was impossible to recover files.
