The last major update for PUBG introduced a rating system, the ability to select a specific card and automatic matchmaking by region, which replaced the manual selection of servers. The matchmaking system brought with it serious problems, as it often mistakenly sent players to regional servers with a huge ping instead of local ones with a good connection. The developers have released a hotfix, which should fix this problem.
Next week there will be a full patch, which should deal with all the remaining matchmaking errors. After this, the game will correctly give priority to locations with the lowest ping.
