Sapphire video card dock-station does not allow to install long adapters

The range of Sapphire has been added to the GearBox Thunderbolt 3 eGFX Solution docking station for creating an external video card. The power supply capacity is 500 watts, but Sapphire claims that the video card should not consume more than 300 watts. However, the main limitation is not in power, but in size.

The length of the graphics adapter should not exceed 266 mm. This is a lot, but there are quite longer video cards on the market. Sapphire for convenience lists a list of more than three dozen compatible adapters, but, which is logical, only its own production. There are different models, starting with the Radeon RX 460 and ending with the RX 580.

The docking station for Sapphire GearBox Thunderbolt 3 video cards does not allow you to install too long adapters. The docking station can also offer a pair of USB 3.0 ports and Gigabit Ethernet. Dimensions of the device are 300 x 138 x 204 mm.

The cost of the docking station is 340 dollars. Included with the Radeon RX 580 video card, it will cost $ 540-580, depending on the adapter version.
